On the 6th of July 2024, the Hartley Rocks Choir held its very first charity concert at the Victoria Hall in Hartley Wintney, and what a night it was! With incredible support from two fantastic groups—4 in a Bar and Midlife Crisis—the evening was a joyous celebration of music and community spirit. We are thrilled to share that the event was a sell-out, with every seat filled and a waiting list of eager attendees. The excitement and energy in the room were palpable, and it was clear that everyone came to support not just the music, but also a very special cause. Our choir is passionate about giving back to the community, and for this concert, we chose to raise funds for Parkinson's UK, a charity very close to our hearts. When we first started planning, we hoped to raise a few hundred pounds to help those affected by Parkinson's disease. We are overjoyed to announce that thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we were able to donate an incredible £1,000! This donation was formally presented to Katherine, a representative from Parkinson's UK, during one of our Monday rehearsals. It was a truly heartwarming moment, with the whole choir gathered to celebrate our collective achievement. Katherine expressed her gratitude and shared how these funds will go towards supporting vital research and providing care for those living with Parkinson's. The night was not only a success for charity, but it also showcased the power of music to bring people together. Both 4 in a Bar and Midlife Crisis wowed the audience with their performances, and we couldn't be more grateful for their support in making the night unforgettable.
